Reported Crop Circles for the State of North Carolina -

Dudley, Wayne County (May 26, 2004)

Farmer Kerry Smith discovers several flattened areas of wheat in his uncle’s, farmer Marvin Hatcher, dry, ripe wheat field that produced an effect he says looks like “mazes in the wheat”. All the downed areas are flattened in the same direction.

Unionville, NC formation

The areas are between 20-80 feet wide and are located in a field behind the farmer’s house along Stanley Chapel Church Road.

Smith ruled out wind damage because he said the wind would have pulled up dirt or caused some kind of additional ground damage and because the flattened wheat was lying all in the same direction, but with the small, flattened areas scattered across the field.

Smith believed that it was all man-made, but couldn’t explain how someone would have gotten into the isolated areas, nor offered any signs of evidence indicating that it was.
